Josh Arthurs, "The Toronto Tornado"
Josh Arthurs, the Toronto Tornado, was born on May 26, 1975 in Toronto, Canada.
In his twelfth year, his life was irrevocably changed when he received a
John Lee Hooker album for Christmas. From that point on, it was nothin'
but the blues. Following in the footsteps of his idols Albert Collins,
Hound Dog Taylor and Son House, Josh is now the fastest rising star
on the cut-throat Toronto blues scene, having played with such legends as
Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown and Roy Bookbinder. Upon his arrival at Wesleyan,
Josh joined psychedelic rock pioneers Grandma's Closet until its demise
in the fall of 1994. It was then that Josh knew he had to make his move.
Teaming up with his soul brother Carter "Lord Have Mercy" Bays,
Josh set about to create the hardest working band at Wesleyan.
Now, the snarling tones of the "Natural Disaster on the Telecaster" cut
through the Connecticut night like never before.
